I'm a native St. Louisan who's been away for going on 6 years now, but you've inspired me to come back as soon as I can...makes me miss the city. You're spot on in all your analyses: a lot of the city is neglected and falling into disrepair, but the strengths of those neighborhoods are already there: namely the thoughtful original architecture and city planning AND the residents.
