Affordable housing in the southern reaches of St. Louis are cause for optimism. This project is one that seems like a win on all fronts. Carondelet and the Patch are better because of this handful of new homes.
The handsome corner building at Grand and Holly Hills Avenue in the Carondelet Neighborhood is seeing new life as a transitional housing for children aging out of foster care as well as seniors and families needing housing assistance. This 1928 building was in limbo for many years, so it will be good to get a new roof and interior rehab. Another St. Louis City Talk favorite from 2017.
