Proposal for Mixed-Use Building on southeast corner of Delmar and Skinker

Proposal for Mixed-Use Building on southeast corner of Delmar and Skinker

Last year, there was a mixed use proposal for the northwest corner of Skinker and Delmar, this year there is one for the southeast corner. Both would be higher uses at an important entry to the Loop. The Skinker/Debaliviere neighborhood would be more whole with this project and the size matches the existing buildings in the area. A favorite announcement in 2017, for sure.

Intrada Lofts in the Carondelet Neighborhood - 2017 St. Louis City Talk Favorite

Intrada Lofts in the Carondelet Neighborhood - 2017 St. Louis City Talk Favorite

The handsome corner building at Grand and Holly Hills Avenue in the Carondelet Neighborhood is seeing new life as a transitional housing for children aging out of foster care as well as seniors and families needing housing assistance. This 1928 building was in limbo for many years, so it will be good to get a new roof and interior rehab. Another St. Louis City Talk favorite from 2017.

Former Victor Iron Works Site in Soulard - Turning to >120 Apartments

Former Victor Iron Works Site in Soulard - Turning to >120 Apartments

Another favorite development of 2017 is the Whistler Apartment building at Victor and 9th Street in Soulard. This one will bring over 120 new units and some much needed residential density in one of the more far away corners of this high-visibility neighborhood. With so many tourists and visitors coming to the Brewery, this will make a nice addition to Broadway vs. the shuttered Victor Iron Works.

2016 Favorite Development Announcements: Soulard Apartments at Russell and Gravois

2016 Favorite Development Announcements: Soulard Apartments at Russell and Gravois

Another 2016 development favorite announcement that is well underway in Soulard. This one hugs the existing historic buildings and will bring a lot of activity to a former boring entrance to a popular neighborhood. Passers-by on I-44/I-55 will certainly get a taste for what St. Louisan's know. Lots of positive development is happening in St. Louis.

River des Peres Greenway Extension - Completed in 2017

River des Peres Greenway Extension - Completed in 2017

The 1.5 mile extension of the Great Rivers Greenway that connects the Shrewsbury Metrolink station to Slay Park runs through the Lindenwood Park and Ellendale Neighborhoods near St. Louis' southwest border. This extension was on our list of favorite 2016 projects that came to completion in 2017.

October, 2017 Cultural Resources Office - Preservation Board Meeting

October, 2017 Cultural Resources Office - Preservation Board Meeting

There continues to be a lot of infill development being proposed all over the city. October's proposals caught my eye because they are in my neck of the woods. I visited each site in Benton Park, Compton Heights, Lafayette Square and McKinley Heights to check out the scene and hopefully get some final photos of empty lots that will soon have foundations being dug.
